Helping London’s circular economy champion create circular office

Office Resale helped circular economy champion, London Waste and Recycling Board (LWARB), create a circular office, when they moved into a 4000sq ft space in Shoreditch.

LWARB’s requirement for a circular office

LWARB is a government funded organisation set up to promote waste reduction, reuse and recycling in the Capital.  When LWARB refurbished their new office space to house 25 staff and the start-ups they are supporting through their Circular London Accelerator programme, they of course wanted to put their circular economy principles into practice.

LWARB was looking to retain, reuse and recycle as much as possible and to showcase some of the innovative circular businesses that form their support programme.  Naturally, this included Premier Sustain, a division of Premier Workplace Services that provides sustainable workplace services for workplace furniture and IT – and of course Premier Sustain called on Office Resale as their used office furniture retail channel!  The fit out was manged by creative interior design and build specialists Action Workspace.

Supplying high quality used office furniture

Office Resale supplied a whole host of high quality, used office furniture from top brands including:

• 26 white 1200 x 800 Herman Miller Abak desks with graphite tapered legs & cable trays
• 14 white flip top tables with graphite frames
• 1 Abak meeting table with graphite legs and white top
• 3 Ergonom round café tables
• 4 Davison Highley 2-seater booths recovered in fabrics from Camira
• 9 Vitra Eames DSW Eiffel Tower base chairs in white
• 12 Boss Kruze high stools recovered in fabrics from Camira
• 4 Fina lounge chairs
• 8 Orangebox stools

All items were lovingly remanufactured and refurbished in Premier’s award winning facility, the Renew Centre.

Achieving LWARB’s circular office

Office Resale helped LWARB achieve a modern, urban looking office complete with used office furniture refurbished to the highest standards.  This was done on budget within a tight four-week time-frame – see the short video here.

LWARB worked with other circular office suppliers to provide sustainable flooring, worktops and carpets.  The original meeting room doors, carpet tiles and kitchen were reused and placed in different areas.  You can read the full case study on LWARB’s website.
